It was an absolute pleasure to share the benefits and opportunities of solar with the EcoRise students. Many thanks to Children’s Haven and all the volunteers who helped make this happen.
We got together on a sunny February morning to share how solar works, how they can work in solar, understand solar advocacy, and learn about a solar powered car race here in Texas.
Below are some great photos from the event. We started by connecting with each other and our wonderful Earth. Then we learned about policy from Solar Austin’s policy lead, Kaiba White.
Marilyn from Children’s Haven shared the history and purpose of this historic location. Our program coordinator, David Levesque, planned a hands-on demonstration of how solar works.
The Round Top-Carmine High School Solar Car Team showed us their solar panels, battery, and plan to win the solar race later this year. The students learned the anatomy of a solar system by reviewing the donated Enphase battery system and related components, led by Juan Afanador.
Lunch was a little late so we had some dancing time, the Electric Slide of course. After lunch, we heard from several solar industry professionals about their work and how they got to where they are.Â
